I am a strong supporter of Agriculture.  This important industry contributes $41 billion to Colorado’s economy each year, and employs nearly 173,000 people.  That includes farmers and ranchers who work on the state’s 36,180 farms, which cover 31.8 million acres of land.  The average size of a Colorado farm is 881 acres.  It also includes people who work in the state’s agribusinesses and related industries, such as forestry, nursery, and food processing. Colorado agriculture helps feed the world, with agricultural exports of more than $2 billion for 2017.  Our State’s public policies must support rural Colorado’s farmers, ranchers, and small businesses and provide the tools and opportunities they need to succeed.
